Our Story

A Passion for Seasonal, Soulful Cuisine

Iris opened its doors with a singular vision: to create a dining experience in New Orleans that honored the city's extraordinary culinary heritage while embracing the creative possibilities of contemporary American cooking.

Drawing on the Gulf Coast's spectacular seafood, the farms of Louisiana and the surrounding region, and techniques learned in some of America's finest kitchens, the team at Iris built a menu that changes with the seasons and rewards guests who return again and again.

The move to the French Quarter in 2009 opened a new chapter, bringing a larger kitchen, expanded dining room, and the energy of one of the world's great historic neighborhoods to what had already become one of New Orleans' most beloved restaurants.
